Crytek DOES own the TimeSplitters IP
Seems a lot of key information has managed to slide under everyone's noses since Februrary . Sonny has provided some links in This Thread which seems to confirm from several sources that Crytek DID indeed aquire the rights to all of Free Radical Designs Intellectual Properties in the acquisition. The current status and or development of TimeSplitters 4 still remains unconfirmed by Crytek however. Crytek PR Manger Jens Schäfer has confirmed to Voodoo Extreme that the studio's purchase of Free Radical Design included the TimeSplitters intellectual property: Could you clarify whether Crytek also purchased rights to Timesplitters 4 and other Free Radical I.P.?
Yes, the rights for their major IPs now belong to Crytek. http://ve3d...

E3 Day 1 Letdown - No TimeSplitters confirmation from Crytek (so far)
(copied from front page)
(Links coming as they become available)
During the EA press conference on day one of E3, Crytek took the stage. Disapointingly, they only mentioned Crysis 2, as well as plugged the Cry3 Engine. This may be un settlelling, but everyone has to remember one thing: We don't know who would be publishing TimeSplitters anyways. If it isn't EA, then they certainly wouldn't mention it during an EA press conference. There is still the Ubisoft press conference later today, as well as the Sony one tomorrow. The likelyness of it being a Sony explusive though seem slim.
Hopefully someone out there tracks down Crytek and asks them about Splitters!

Found some bad news - Crysis 2 first game to use Cryengine 3
June 01, 2009, 11:41:45 AM by RobJ
http://www.gamingbits.com/content/view/5862/2/This article suggests that at present Crytek is focusing on development of Crysis 2 for consoles and PC rather than TS4. "The development of Crysis 2 marks a major stepping stone for our studio. This is not only the next game in the Crysis franchise, it’s the first title we are developing for consoles and the first title being built on CryENGINE 3. We are excited to have the support of EA Partners again as we work together to make the launch of Crysis 2 a huge event." Cevat Yerli At least he didn't say Crysis was all that was currently in development. Apparantly there will be further announcements at e3 and Crysis 2 should be due in 2010 http://wakobi.livejournal.com/75327.html

FRD Now working on "Dream Projects"
May 06, 2009, 02:35:37 PM by Jolteon
This article was posted on qj.net earlier yesterday, it indicates that Free Radical (Crytek UK now) are doing "dream projects" projects FRD always wanted to do. The full article is below. The acquisition by Crytek seems to be going great for Free Radical, er, Crytek UK. Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli has revealed that they've pretty much given the developer free reign in what projects they're pursuing.
While remaining secretive about the dev studio's new project, the Crytek CEO said in an interview with Develop that they are "working with Free Radical on things that they always dreamed to do."
"We are providing the team a roadmap and the chance to grow," he added, "which is why we were picked as a partner, and not anyone else.”
So, anybody up for a Timesplitters 4 using the new CryEngine? It was one of the games Free Radical was reportedly working on before they became Crytek UK. Hopefully we hear something more concrete about...

Interview with Crytek CEO about acquiring Free Radical Design...
http://crytekuk.info/archives/190 for truncated interview, also below. http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/crysis-core for full interview. You acquired Free Radical Design recently, which became Crytek UK. How’s that integration coming along? Cevat Yerli: It was such a good move. They can speak better than anybody else about this, but I feel their motivation is very high. From what I hear from the management that is actually running this studio, after the troubles, a lot of people who left the company have now come back. We had 40 staff when we acquired it, it’s now grown to 60. That speaks for itself. They feel like they’re moving in a new direction. I’m hearing good reports every week. Motivation is high. The project they’re working on and the technology they are equipped with is super exciting. It’s been a win-win. When we met with the team we instantly new we had to work with them. Their heart, their vision, is just right. They were just victims of ...

Fate of Free Radical Design to be decided this week
http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/fate-of-free-radical-design-to-be-decided-this-week"The fate of Free Radical Design will be announced formally this Wednesday, February 4. The TimeSplitters and Haze developer went into administration at the end of the year, and numbers were cut at the studio bringing headcount down to 40. Administrator ReSolve Partners has said that it will make the announcement this week, after indicating that there has been "very strong" interest in the company. While the administrator had been striving to sell the company as a whole, ReSolve did indicate that it would be prepared to split technology, IP and other assets if it meant a more lucrative sale. A number of companies have been rumoured to be interested in Free Radical Design, including Codemasters and Monumental Games, but ReSolve has also indicated that there has been interest from outside of the videogames industry." TS4 Staying Home?
January 16, 2009, 11:50:46 PM by Amnoz
The future of Free Radical remains uncertain. There have been massive lay-offs and only a core team remain. Dudenaughty confirmed that Timesplitters 4 has yet to be picked up by a publisher. "Timesplitters 4 couldn't find a publisher. Nobody wanted to buy it. They didn't think that Americans would buy it." The overwhelmingly positive reaction to the leaked Battlefront III footage has bolstered the remaining group still employed at Free Radical. "It's great, it's very heartening. That's pleased people," he said. "We're pleased in terms of people that are interested in buying the company, we've got some pretty interesting stuff. But the fact that a good number of friends have been lost to the wind is a real shame. They were talented guys that we simply couldn't keep on because there wasn't the money to survive long enough."
Dudenaughty was certain that if any of the work that's been done on Timesplitters 4 is ever shown, fans will be even more impressed. "The ...
