Here's the deal, as explained in this thread, installing mods on SMF to add features is TERRIBLE when you want to update forum software. The files change, which really deteriorates stability and proper functionality. You may notice how fast the forum is running now, that's due to it being coded properly finally.

Here is a list of things you can't do anymore

Tags - tagging in threads has been removed

Here's what has been added

Index news fader/News bars - Random news articles will also appear above the forum tabs at the top of the forum if you have that section expanded out (to see your avatar and unread posts link)

New usergroup colours -  Users at the reaper splitter and berserker splitter ranks have a distinct colour for their username. Again, working on getting colours back into threads

Spell Check - I've switched on spell checking in posts. (For those people without firefox )

Recent posts list is quite a loss for me and i'd really like to see it return.

Also, it there any way to add a way to scroll through your fading news links on the main page. It's a nice feature but it gets annoying when you see something  interesting flash onto the screen but it disappears before you can follow the link.

Unfortunately no :(

I'm missing the recent topics bar myself now. Looking to see if  they've made improvements to the tinyportal integration system, as it would benefit the forum in several ways

I like the fade news information pic/txt on the top of the Forum, Drk - nice touch.  Thumbs Up

Not the recent posts on the left... that was a brilliant feature, I must say.

lol, that's just SMF default

I've been searching the SMF support forums for a way to code some mouseover effects into it, and there's no mention yet. I'll make my own thread, see if anyone can help out. I do agree RobJ, a simple mouseover pause would be very nice

I'd also like to mention in this thread, I've changed the quote box shade of grey to a much darker one, so text is easier to read. Again, something so simple that I've been meaning to do for ever, just never got to it.

Does that box that says "Users active within the last 15 minutes" just mean "Users online" as I dissapaer off it straight after I log off. If I'm inactive for 15 minutes will I diappear off that list? (I'm going to try that out now actually).

EDIT: That would have worked but I had to refresh my browser to find out, making me active again. (But the box I was talking about anyway has gone now anyway).

I don't like having the recent topics thing causing the rest of the forum to be smaller.
Also, on the home page, I have to scroll right to see the rest of the page. (like the poll and stuff)

The layout uses tables and I'm not very familiar with tables. If the widths were in percentages then the problem wouldn't exist.

Sweet!  Now I don't have to use Firefox whenever I want to post stuff here!

I haven't used it yet, instead I've had to learn how to spoll.
I hope that's NOT a mistake,otherwise,that's a little strange.

I'm sure Godman knows that it's "spel" and not "spoll".
